Headteacher full-time, permanent

The Governors of Orgill Primary School are looking to appoint an influential leader with a strong vision, exemplary communication skills and a nurturing disposition to be our new Headteacher.  

At Orgill Primary School, located in West Cumbria, we take our responsibility to provide children with the very best start in life seriously. We love the challenge and strive to meet it. We are delighted to be able to offer children an exciting and well-planned curriculum that is designed to meet all their needs to achieve their academic potential, but also provide pupils with as many positive experiences as possible.

A leader that has high expectations and strives to ensure that every child leaves the school having achieved the very best that they can, personally and academically and with respect for themselves and others.

  Additionally, Orgill School is one of the 34 English Hubs within England.  It offers support to local schools, academies & free schools to improve the teaching of phonics, early language and reading.  The Headteacher will act as the strategic lead and perform the following:
•    Showcase events in teaching phonics, language and a love of reading
•    Support to develop an action plan
•    A reading audit in eligible schools
•    Manage a dedicated budget for training & resources
