Due to the retirement of our long standing Headteacher, the governors of our well-supported school would like to appoint a dynamic Headteacher who will share our whole school vision.

Allonby Primary School is situated in a small coastal village, in an area of outstanding natural beauty, with magnificent views over the Solway towards Criffel. We seek to appoint a passionate Headteacher to continue to promote high standards of learning as well as continuing to develop the curriculum which nurtures the whole child. We work harmoniously with the community and we maximise the use of our local area and surroundings, extending the learning beyond the classroom.

Allonby Primary School is proud of its out of school activities as well as its strong links with the consortium of local small schools. In 2018, we were rated as ‘good’ by Ofsted. They reported:

• ‘Within the small and close-knit school community, there is an overarching ethos of kindness, consideration and compassion.’
• ‘Pupils feel valued, listened to and treated as individuals.’
• ‘Teachers set challenging work for pupils that allows them to build effectively on what they have already learned.’
