Part time Fixed Term Teaching Assistant to cover maternity leave

Required From: February 2024 until December 31st or when the substantive postholder returns if earlier.

24 ½ hours per week term time only 

The Governors of Black Combe Junior School wish to appoint a teaching assistant to join our enthusiastic and committed team.

 Like everyone at Black Combe, you will need to be innovative, hardworking and driven by a passion to provide a high quality education and bring out the very best in all our pupils.  
The successful candidate will be required to work 24 hours 30 minutes each week (working pattern 5 mornings including lunchtime plus 1 afternoon) term time.  

The school has a number of senior teaching assistants (STA) who will be able to support the successful candidate.

 This post is ideal for someone at the start of their learning support career or new to KS2.    
This post is fixed term as it is maternity leave cover for a colleague who is planning to return to work December 2024.

The successful candidate will:
•    Have an awareness of practices and procedures within education 
•    Be flexible, well organised and work well within a team
•    Understand child development and learning
•    Foster good relationships with parents, pupils, governors, colleagues and other professionals
•    Have experience of working with or caring for children and young people
•    Hold a relevant Level 2 or higher qualification and recent relevant experience
•    Contribute to wider school life
•    Show commitment to the aims and ethos of Black Combe School
