£21,029 per annum paid pro rata for part-time employees
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our friendly and caring small school.
The Governors seek to appoint two committed, enthusiastic and hardworking teaching assistants to support the young people of St Joseph’s Catholic Primary School.
The purpose of the role is to:
• To work under the direction of the head teacher and teaching staff to support the delivery of quality learning and teaching of pupils.
• To assist the class teacher and other staff in carrying out planned activities to meet the needs of the pupil, making necessary adjustments.
• To support the pupils 1:1 and within a group/class setting.
• To encourage the pupil participation and enable the pupil to become more independent.
• To understand the pupil’s learning needs and provide regular feedback so that decisions can be made about next steps.
• To care for the safety and well-being of the children.
• To liaise effectively with all staff in school, including specialist professionals.
We are looking for applicants who:

• Hold at least an NVQ Level 3 in Childcare or equivalent.
• Demonstrate good levels of English and Maths skills to support our pupils.
• Are creative and highly motivated, with passion and patience for supporting quality learning experiences.
• Have high expectations of learning and behaviour.
• Are emotionally intelligent, placing immense value on developing the whole child.
• Are able to communicate effectively with children, parents and colleagues.
• Are able to work effectively as part of a committed team.
