Hours of working 07.30 to 14.45 Monday to Friday           

We are seeking to appoint a hard-working individual to organise, oversee and deliver our school meals service.

You will be someone who:

·    has demonstrated reliability and integrity in previous employment;
·    is enthusiastic, creative, flexible and efficient;
·    is able to work well using own initiative and as a team member;
·    has catering experience relevant to the role;
·    has team leadership experience relevant to the role;
·    and is capable of quick thinking, troubleshooting and working under time pressure.

Overview

We are currently seeking a skilled Cook to join our team in preparing delicious meals in our kitchen. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food preparation and a keen eye for detail. This position would particularly suit someone who has catering experience who is seeking a term-time only position.

Duties

-    Prepare and cook meals (including creating healthy menus to appeal to children and their parents)
-    Ensure food is cooked to the correct temperature and meets quality standards
-    Oversee the kitchen team to ensure meals are prepared and served efficiently and to a high standard
-    Oversee the kitchen team to maintain a clean and organised kitchen
-    Monitor food supplies and place orders
-    Follow food safety guidelines at all times

Requirements

-    Previous catering experience working in a kitchen
-    Knowledge of culinary techniques and best practices
-    Ability to lead a team and work well in a team environment
-    Understanding of food safety regulations
-    Willingness to help with various kitchen tasks when needed
-    Excellent customer service ethos
