Teaching Assistant

A unique opportunity has arisen whereby we are looking to appoint a dedicated and professional Teaching Assistant to start as soon as possible.

20hours per week 
PCD7 (£24,294 annual wage £12.59/hr – term time only)
 
The successful candidate will be expected to: 
•    Have good Maths and English skills 
•    Maintain a caring, friendly and supportive approach at all times 
•    Be able to work well with others as part of an effective team
•    Work in partnership with colleagues and external agencies to promote a creative and stimulating learning environment 
•    Provide and deliver learning activities for individuals and groups of pupils under the professional direction and supervision of a qualified teacher, differentiating and adapting learning to suit the needs of allocated pupils 
•    Respond to the needs of pupils and adapt approaches as required

You will be working within a busy and dynamic teaching environment and will need to have a passion and commitment to wanting our young children to develop a life-long love of learning by being a positive and supportive role model. You will need to be patient, hard-working and have high expectations of yourself and pupils. The successful candidates will use a variety of strategies to support and engage our pupils and will be an important member of our team, working closely with the SENDCO, class teachers and school leadership. Candidates will be expected to be proactive and bring a positive approach to work, whilst a commitment to the wider life of the school is also important.

You will also assist the teaching staff in the preparation of the learning environment, liaising with parents, maintaining pupil records, and carrying out a range of administrative tasks to support the teaching staff. Good experience of working with children and relevant qualifications are required.

The school offers an exciting and enriched curriculum through a wide range of activities, both within the classroom but also through the wider environment. Your primary focus will be supporting children to be able to access this curriculum to ensure that they make excellent progress. This will involve you working with teachers and the SENDCo to adapt the curriculum the broad and balanced curriculum offer to meet the individual needs including the teaching of reading, involvement in PE sessions, going on school trips and residentials. We provide a full programme of extra-curricular activities, outdoor learning programmes and sporting opportunities.

You will also be involved in leading playtime activities with children and supporting within the hall during dinner times.

This position is fixed term (based on the needs of the specific child). The hours are Monday to Friday 8.45am to 12.45pm each day.
