Catering Manager (permanent)
Hours:     37 hrs/week    
Weeks:  38 weeks during term-time + 8 days during school closure, including INSET days
Working hours 7am – 3pm, 2.30pm finish on Friday

We are looking for an experienced Catering Manager to lead our catering team including midday supervisors.  Start date is 1 September 2024 further to appropriate clearance of pre-employment checks.  Starting salary: £27897 pa including holiday pay.

Caldew is a well-established secondary school in the Dalston area of Carlisle.  We have approximately a thousand students to whom we provide an outstanding in-house catering service.  

Our Catering Manager is retiring, having led the existing team for 26 years developing the catering facility, providing a provision of the highest standards whilst promoting both healthy eating and individual choice.  All procurement in the area has a consideration to the school’s sustainability ethos.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, professional and friendly individual to lead our team, preferably with experience of working in a school or in a busy food environment.  Personalised training will be provided to ensure you have the tools to complete the role to a required standard. We will provide you with uniform, training, internal and external support and fantastic working facilities.

Midday Supervisor

Midday Supervisor (part time, term time only)

PCD3 Salary: £23,151 FTE per annum, pro rata salary £4970 (this includes the Living Wage Supplement). Hourly rate £12

The Governors are looking to appoint, as soon as possible, a Midday Supervisor to join our excellent team and provide lunch time cover for a total of 9.5 hours per week.

The main responsibilities of the role are:

•    supervise children whilst they are eating
•    ensure safe supervision indoors and outdoors
•    high expectations of children’s behaviour 
•    a commitment to teamwork
•    effective communication skills
•    a willingness to update knowledge and skills through further training
•    uphold school behaviour policies

Teaching Assistant

Part Time Teaching Assistant

30 hours/week, term-time plus 1 week (39 weeks/year)

We require an enthusiastic, professional and highly motivated Teaching Assistant to join our dedicated and forward thinking team to provide one to one support for pupils. Initially required to 31st August 2025.
