Forecast: Bright spells and scattered, wintry showers from the northwest through this afternoon. RSTs may be erratic and fall to around zero during these wintry showers. Showers becoming more isolated through this evening which will allow for longer clear periods to develop, as well as RSTs falling below zero. Cloud will then build from the southwest later this evening ahead of outbreaks of rain, sleet and snow spreading northeastwards through the course of the night. Rain, sleet and snow continuing tomorrow morning - this heavy at times alongside strong winds - though should turn increasingly to rain later in the morning which will aid in RST recovery.
A slight covering of a cm or so is possible from wintry showers this afternoon.
With outbreaks of rain, sleet and snow overnight, this could bring accumulations of a cm or so to lower levels. Around 3-7cm is then expected above 150m or so, with locally more than this possible for the highest roads - this falling within a short period of time before turning more to rain towards midday. With strong winds, there is a slight risk of some drifting across the highest ground. This wintry precip will also keep RSTs around or just below zero.
The roads highlighted on the map were scheduled to be treated on this date.
