Ralle was “born” in December 2014 and following CQC checks and registrations, began delivering care in May 2015. Our ethos is “small and local” and “local carers for local people”.
The registered manager and owner of Ralle is Linda Wilson who started care work in 2008 as a part time employee on minimum wage. The company she worked for was taken over four times and was eventually merged into a national company who believed that you could “pop” from Silloth to Thursby to Bothel, back to Silloth in an hour. They had no idea of the geography of Cumbria. By this time Linda had worked through the ranks and was the office manager at Carlisle. Disillusioned with the national company and lack of care and consideration for both staff and clients, she left to create Ralle Health.
We believe that all service users and their family deserve time to talk and be listened to, we are not a “rush” organisation. We deliver person centred care and no two clients are the same.
Although we believe that all staff are equal as we all perform the same tasks, there are four main “go to” carers. They are Wendy Blacklock, Tracy Welham, Sue Scott and Richard Wilson.
Wendy has over 20 years experience as a carer, has an exceptional depth of knowledge and is a “mother” figure to carers and clients.
Tracy has over ten years experience as a carer, is extremely approachable and a carer that clients confide in. She has a very gentle and calming nature.
Sue has nearly 40 years experience as a carer and is the best qualified carer on the team. All new staff spend a week with Sue shadow training as she is a huge source of skill and information.
Richard only has four years experience as a carer, but as the only male employee, he is a firm favourite with the male clients who enjoy some manly chat. As Linda’s son, he is being trained to eventually take over as Manager and is learning his trade at all levels. This offers signs of continuity to both staff and service users.
‘Thank you so much for the loving care and attention given to M. He always had a smile for you.’
‘Thank you for all you do for me. Thanks for listening to me and for being my professional best friends, love from L.’
‘You are just brilliant and I couldn’t have kept mum at home without you and the fabulous girls on your team; I thank God for you all. You came along at just the right time, bless you. May you continue to light up the homes of carer’s and those needing care. With all my love and thanks, J and family.’
