Cockermouth Day Service

We are based in the heart of the market town of Cockermouth just under the Townhall. We are all well-known and proud to be part of our local community.

Connecting with others plays a big part in our own wellbeing, cementing good relationships and community wellness, which creates a sense of connectedness and belonging, which leads to trust and respect between our communities. This in turn can lead to positive engagement while maintaining and developing our self-esteem, confidence while enjoying  social and leisure skills and activities.

What we provide

Within our local based service, we proudly offer personal centre activities, as well as using the famous “bag books” we offer opportunities for in developing new skills which include:

• cooking and baking
• arts and craft
• health and beauty

We have weekly opportunities to use “bikes for all” at our local sports stadium, indoor walking, football and bowling at the local bowing club. 

We also undertake and support in specialised activities that help build independence which are extremely popular, these are:

• VR
• hydrotherapy swimming
• rebound therapy
• postural care
• staff passionately promote stimulation through sensory in our own sensory room

“People who help us in our community” are a big part in the development of us, within Cockermouth, discussing their job roles and how we can jointly work with them.
