Burnrigg Court is a 60 bedded residential home for older adults living with Dementia, sensory impairment and physical disabilities.

About Burnrigg Court

Burnrigg Court is divided into five streets and each has a dining seating area and two separate communal lounges. There is a communal hub at the heart of Burnrigg  Court with a shop and hairdressers and a self serve café and seating area.

Each bedroom has en-suite facilities, the  ground floor rooms have access to outside spaces from bedrooms and lounge areas. The upstairs lounges have outside access with a balcony.

Activities

Burnrigg Court has a wide range of activities including:

  • craft sessions
  • dominoes
  • bingo
  • quiz sessions and card games
  • chair exercises
  • regular entertainment including music for health and ICAN gym chair and gentle exercise

The home receives regular visits from local primary school Newlaithes, who join in baking, craft and singing activities with the residents.

Brampton brass band have also entertained the residents. St Luke's Church visit to take none denominational services and St Bede's Church visit weekly to give Holy Communion.

We also have PAT dog visits once weekly to allow residents to engage with a pet.

The outside areas give residents a chance to do some gardening using the raised beds with seating and tables available.

Our team

The team have come together from three other homes, we work together very well and through the knowledge of the team as a whole we provide dignified, quality care and support to our service users.

Food

All meals are cooked daily on site in the main kitchen.

Daily menu choices are offered and the cooks provide meals for specific service users who require special diets. The support staff serve the meals and have the information regarding special diets and support the residents to choose the most appropriate option for them.
