Cumberland Council is advising residents in Hall Brow and Ramsay Brow in Workington regarding forthcoming highway drainage survey and cleaning activities, scheduled to commence next week.
The surveys relate to the Workington Gateway project, which has received Levelling Up funding for a range of schemes including enhancements between the A66 and employment sites in North Workington to boost the local economy.
The works will include comprehensive drainage surveys in both Hall Brow and Ramsay Brow, involving the examination of manholes and underground services, as well as the cleaning of drainage systems. Lanes for Drains Ltd has been selected as the contractor responsible for these tasks.
Full details are as follows:
Hall Brow:
The drainage investigation work is scheduled to commence on Monday 6 November 2023, for a single evening, weather permitting. The work hours will be between 8pm and 3am.
To facilitate the safe completion of the project, residents living between numbers 19 and 43 on Hall Brow are kindly requested to find alternative parking starting from around 7pm.
There is a possibility of noise from 9pm onwards, due to the use of Jet Vac drainage cleaning equipment, which the council apologises for.
Ramsay Brow:
The drainage investigation works are scheduled to commence on Monday 6 November 2023, with the anticipated completion date of Friday 10 November subject to favourable weather conditions. The work hours will be between 7pm and 3am.
Similar to Hall Brow, there might be noise disturbances from Jet Vac drainage cleaning equipment starting at 9pm, and the council apologises for any inconvenience this may cause.
Cumberland Council wishes to thank the community for their continued support and patience and apologises for any inconvenience.
