Cumberland Council is giving local schools, community groups and performers the chance to take part in this year’s Carlisle Christmas Lights-Switch.
The community event will be held outside the Old Town Hall in the city centre on Sunday 19 November and will showcase local performers as well as celebrity acts.
Any school choir, community dance/singing group, community choir or local performer from the Cumberland Council area that would like to take part is asked to get in touch with the council’s events team before Friday 14 July.
Councillor Anne Quilter, Cumberland Council’s Executive Portfolio Holder for Vibrant and Healthy Places, said:
“This is a great opportunity for community and school groups to take part in one of our most popular Christmas events. The performers will be showcased on a stage in front of a crowd of approximately 10,000 people. Contact us soon if you would like to take part.”
There are a limited number of acts that can take part and each act will be allocated around 10 minutes on stage, as part of an afternoon programme that will start at 3pm.
If you would like to take part, email events@cumberland.gov.uk with details of your group, your connection to the Cumberland area and why you think you should be given the chance to take part.
Performers will be confirmed by Tuesday 18 July.
