Cumberland Council car parking update

Cumberland Council announces the partial closure of Central Station car park in Workington, starting early January.

This closure is necessary to facilitate the start of the construction of an NHS Community Diagnostic Centre, which will provide essential services such as MRI, CT, and ultrasound scans.

From Monday 8 January, some areas of the car park will be cordoned off. However, the remaining spaces will still be accessible to customers, with ample availability for regular users. The available parking spaces will be concentrated at the town end of the site, a popular section for users.

Cumberland Council assures permit holders that they can still use the car park during this period. The closed-off section will be clearly marked with fencing to guide users to the designated parking areas.

They appreciate that this may cause some inconvenience and encourages people to use other car parks located nearby, in particular their multi-storey car park which offers undercover, secure parking at a competitive price.

For any enquiries related to the Central Station car park closure, or for more information on our car parks residents and businesses are encouraged to reach out to car.parks@cumberland.gov.uk.

Cumberland Council wishes to thank the community for patience and support while support during these necessary improvements and apologises for any inconvenience caused.
