The popular inclusive cycling hub at CSA, Hensingham is to re-launch on Friday 23 August.
The hub was one of the first projects delivered as part of our Coastal Programme, but which unfortunately ceased operating during the pandemic.
Cumberland Council is pleased to announce that with the help of The Outdoor Partnership, Cyclewise, Cumbria Sports Academy, Wheels for All and some great volunteers they are now in a position to offer inclusive cycling sessions once again.
The first event will be held on Friday 23 August, between 1pm and 3pm, at CSA Stadium utilising a range of adapted bikes; from trikes and quads, recumbents and side to sides alongside standard two wheelers.
The event offers the opportunity to try cycling in a safe and pleasant setting, on a dedicated circuit and with support.
Please book in advance so we can ensure we have a cycle and helmet for everyone taking part. Bookings can be made via the eventbrite website.
Friends and family are also welcome to attend (no need to book). Whilst this event marks the re-launch of the opportunity, more event dates will be announced shortly.

Coastal Communities Fund:
The Great British Coast has enormous economic potential and the government is committed to levelling up across the country, to ensure equal opportunities so no community is left behind. That’s why the government has invested more than £229million in seaside areas through the Coastal Communities Fund to help in generating jobs and boosting businesses. So far, analysis has shown that this has been money well spent, with every £1 invested having the potential to create an up to £8 boost to our coastal economies.
