We are reminding residents and businesses that we won’t tolerate abuse, harassment or violence being directed at our staff.
Most residents and businesses in the Cumberland area are polite and welcoming to staff.
However, any incidents of verbal abuse, damage to property and threatening behaviour are not acceptable. We would expect everyone to treat each other with kindness and respect.
As a council we will do everything within our powers to protect staff and Councillors, including reporting incidents to police where necessary. We will not tolerate aggressive, abusive or threatening behaviour.
