Cumberland Council announces that repair works on Sebergham Bridge will commence on Monday 18 November.
Due to an incident that caused significant damage to the parapet wall of Sebergham Bridge, temporary traffic lights have been in place to allow vehicles to cross safely. However, to fully repair the damage, a complete road closure will be required for safety reasons. This closure will begin on Monday 18 November, and last for five days, weather permitting.
The work will take place from Monday to Friday, between 8.00am and 5.00pm, with no work on weekends. Though works are being conducted during these hours, the road will remain closed to traffic throughout the entire period, including emergency service vehicles.
A signed diversion route will be in place for the duration of the closure. Please note that waste collections will be temporarily affected, as the diversion route is not suitable for the collection vehicles. Missed collections will resume the following week.

Cumberland Council would like to thank the community for their patience and cooperation during these bridge repairs and apologise for any inconvenience caused.
