Cumberland Council is informing residents and businesses about upcoming road improvements on the A7 from Harker to Blackford in Carlisle.

The resurfacing work will be carried out by the council's contractor, Connect Roads, from Sunday 22 September 2024 to Saturday 5 October 2024, between the hours of 7.00pm and 6.00am each evening, weather permitting.

During this period, the A7 will be closed from Harker to Blackford Church, with a clearly marked diversion route in place. The council encourages residents to plan their journeys in advance and follow the designated signs.

Traffic marshals will be stationed at closure points to escort residents and businesses safely through the work site. Depending on site activities, there may be a short wait until it is safe to be escorted through. Access will be maintained for emergency services throughout the works.

Connect Roads and Cumberland Council wish to thank the community for their continued support and patience while these essential improvements are made to the road network and apologises for any inconvenience.
