Fans of fabulous food and fine dining are in for a treat this September when the Taste Cumbria pop up restaurant returns with Michelin-starred dining.
The Cottage in the Wood Supper Club @ Low Hall the Lakes takes place on Thursday 26 September, ahead of the flagship Taste Cumbria event in Cockermouth on Saturday 28 September and Sunday 29 September.
Chef Jack Bond from The Cottage in the Wood will be creating a five course menu for the event which in the beautiful surroundings of Low Hall the Lakes, a venue more usually used for weddings where the stunning Loveable Old Barn creates the perfect backdrop for an exclusive food and drink experience.
It’s five years since Cottage in the Wood received its first Michelin Star, and the restaurant with rooms, which is tucked away in Whinlatter Forest, is now firmly embedded in Cumbria’s fine dining history. Meanwhile, it is six years since the Low Hall farmstead was reinvented as one of the county’s most vibrant wedding destinations. Hidden away on the outskirts of Cockermouth, its owners, Francesca and Ben Knight, have created an atmospheric hideaway which also offers accommodation for its guests.
The Supper Club menu will be a celebration of local seasonal produce, brought to life by Jack and his team. From gin-cured trout, to beef with black garlic, as well as the freshest dessert of lemon, honey and elderflower, it will be a feast for all the senses.
Tickets are on sale now, priced £65 per person, and this includes a welcome cocktail. Please note, in order to accommodate as many guests as possible, the Supper Club will take place on the top floor of the Loveable Old Barn which is only accessible via stairs.
