Two new events are bringing chaotic fun and classy dining to Maryport during this year’s Taste of the Sea festival.
The madcap Bingo Loco experience and a Fish and Fizz Supper will take place on Saturday 10 August and tickets are on sale now.
Bingo Loco has taken the world by storm with sold out shows in 200 locations around the globe. Forget the traditional game of bingo - expect a three-hour interactive stage show packed with dance offs, rave rounds, loud and lively music, and some fabulous prizes. The organisers say Bingo Loco is not an event - it’s a show with the mentality of a theatre performance and the energy of a festival. It takes place at Grasslot Sports Club and promises to be a lively night.
If the thought of fresh seafood and a glass of something chilled is more your style, tuck in to paella, salads, Cumberland sausage and some stunning desserts with a view of the sea at the first Fish and Fizz Supper. It’s being held at The Settlement, in its enviable position perched high above the Harbourside.
Now in its fourth year, the Taste of the Sea festival takes place on Saturday 10 and Sunday 11 August in Maryport. There will be plenty of stalls to browse, loads of culinary experts to talk to, hot food and cold drinks, a children’s fairground and more.
As well as the ever-popular music stage, and the rum bar and beer marquee, there will be hot and cold seafood traders, an oyster bar and fish to buy straight from the Chelaris boat. Entertainment will include sea shanty bands and roaming street theatre, as well as a children’s Treasure Trail to take visitors all around the town.
The Taste Cumbria events are organised by Cumberland Council.
