Cumberland Council is informing residents and businesses of an urgent road closure on Victoria Road, between Banks Lane and Botcherby Avenue, in Carlisle.
The council highways team will conduct immediate remedial investigations due to the sunken condition of the carriageway. Consequently, a complete road closure on Victoria Road, between Banks Lane to Botcherby Avenue in Carlisle, will be necessary.
These works are scheduled to commence on Thursday 11 January until Friday 12 January, with a diversion route in place.
Works will take place from approximately 8am to 4pm, each day.
If residents or businesses require access to their property, we kindly request that this is discussed with the Traffic Marshal who will be on site during the works, please be aware that there might be some delays accessing properties.
The council is reminding the community that businesses within the area remain open and fully operational.
Access will be maintained for emergency services during the works.
