PCD5 £23, 893 pro rata
Term time only 38 +1 week inset
Hours: 32.5 hours a week. Monday-Friday 8.30am to 3.30pm
Proposed interview date: Thursday 13th June AM
The post is for one full time person or we would consider two part time people as long as the hours are covered as shown above.
Kirkbampton CE School are seeking to appoint a skilled, enthusiastic and dedicated individual to join our lovely school. The role will be to support a child with ASD who will start Reception in September 2024. The child will require full time support within the classroom, dining hall and during break times outside.
The successful applicant will need to demonstrate :-
• Has a relevant NVQ2 qualification or higher
• Has recent relevant experience of working with children with ASD
• Has experience of/willing to learn basic Makaton
• Is calm, patient and nurturing
• Is resilient, committed and flexible and able to think on their feet
• Builds excellent relationships with children, staff and parents
• Supports the Christian ethos of the school
• Is sensitive to the needs of the child when supporting eating and delivering intimate care
• Is energetic and able to keep up with a busy four year old
• Works well with a team of staff-initially in EYFS but in other classes as the child moves through the school.

Essential Qualifications
• NVQ 2 or above qualification (or equivalent)
Desirable Qualifications
• Paediatric First Aid
• Makaton
Essential Experience
• Experience of working with SEN children within a classroom environment.
Desirable Experience
• Experience of working with children with ASD
• Experience of working with non-verbal children
• Experience of working in EYFS
