Part time permanent School Kitchen Cook 

Crosscanonby St John’s CE school is a happy, friendly primary school with a caring and inclusive ethos. We have a strong team who work together to provide the best we can for all of the children in our school.

Salary: OP5 £23, 893 FTE, per annum £12.38 per hour, term time only, 20 hours per week

You will be required to:
•    Devise, prepare, cook and serve food following agreed menus and accommodate any special dietary requirements.
•    Maintain a high standard of cleanliness in the school kitchen, including all equipment and the surrounding work areas.
•    Take responsibility for setting up, cleaning and tidying up the dinner hall tables and chairs.
•    Comply with all Food and Health and Safety standards and regulations
•    Take responsibility for maintaining and ordering stock.
•    Ensure stock is stored and labelled appropriately.
•    Take responsibility for keeping accurate records.
•    Be prepared to undertake training.

The successful candidate must have:
•    NVQ L3 Support Staff (including school kitchen modules) or similar.
•    Food Hygiene certificate
•    Knowledge of health and safety procedures and regulations.
•    Ability to adapt, manage and organise self and work without supervision.
•    Recent and relevant experience of working in a kitchen.
•    Confidence in literacy and numeracy.
•    Experience in keeping accurate written records.
•    Experience in ordering and controlling stock.
•    Ability to relate well to children and adults.

Hours of work will be term time only plus three days for deep cleaning. Hours to be worked will be 9:30 – 1:30 Monday to Friday (20 hrs per week).
