After School Club Playworker - Level 3/Grade 3

Fixed Term One year (Ends or until January 2026 due to numbers/funding)
 - may be extended.

Hours Monday to Friday 3.00pm - 6.00pm - term time only 

Kirkbride Primary School are looking for someone who has previous experience of working with children in an education setting to collaborate with our Breakfast Club Leader. The successful candidate will work with the Head Teacher to develop an afterschool club that is fun, enjoyable and a place our children look forward to going to after a hard day at school! We are looking for someone with a genuine desire to involve themselves fully in the life of our school and to work as part of our friendly and committed team.

Qualifications:
At least Level 3 NVQ Teaching Assistant or equivalent, including EYFS qualified.
 
Key responsibilities:
•    Always ensure the safety and well-being of all the children
•    Ensure records are kept for contacts, safeguarding and communication.
•    Supervise our children at After School Club, engaging with them in aspects of play and conversation.
•    Plan and lead craft activities.
•    Meet and greet parents.
•    Develop quality play and activities, ensuring the engagement of all children, specific to their individual needs through a variety of play opportunities.
•    Implement playworker principles and the EYFS statutory framework, and general childcare requirements.
•    Monitor homework activities, where appropriate.
•    Serving of prepared refreshments.
•    Ensure understanding and appropriate implementation of all the school’s policies and procedures. We would provide all the relevant training required; however, we do require the candidate to have good literacy and numeracy skills.  The candidate should be motivated and enjoy working with children.
