Finance and Governance Clerk – (Hybrid)

Start date 2nd June 2025 – New role 1 year FTC initially to budgetary and staff structure.

The Governors and Senior Leaders at Mayfield School are looking to appoint, a new member to their existing Business Support Team. This role would support with the School Business Manager with the preparation of the Financial Memoranda, as well as facilitate the administration of the Governance for the school. The role is a new post which, is envisaged to marry on site business support with the option for remote working. This hybrid role would require a minimum of 15 hours working in school with the remaining 10 hours negotiated with the School Business Manager as remote working. The role is aimed at supporting with finance and governance compliance.  The role will require experience of working in school administration, ideally school finances, though training can be provided in this. The ideal candidate will have held a clerk to governors post previously or be able to demonstrate experience of clerk or committee administration and compliance.

BS7 Salary: £27711 FTE Pro Rata – £14.46 p/hr 25 hrs per week, 39 weeks per year , term time.

The main responsibilities of the role are:
•    Processing invoices and dealing with suppliers 
•    Ensuring financial data in accurate for the purposes of running reports
•    Using SAGE accounting software and Office 365 packages
•    Taking minutes and preparing documents for Governor’s meetings approx. 9 per years
•    Ensuring Governance compliance is adhered to
