How to apply to another local authority

One or more of the schools you apply for could be in the area of a neighbouring local authority.

If your home address is in the local authority area of Cumberland, you should name your preferred schools on form your application in exactly the same way as a Cumberland Local Authority school. School Admissions will then work with the relevant local authority regarding your application.

If you give a school in the area of a neighbouring local authority as your first preference and it can be offered, you would not be offered a Cumberland local authority school.

 If none of your preferences can be offered, you will be allocated a place within the Cumberland local authority.
