There are a number of organisations in our community which we support that can provide help and advice.

Citizens Advice Bureau 

The Citizens Advice Bureau (CAB) provides free impartial advice about a number of issues.

Legal advice

The Cumbria Law Centre offers free legal advice to those who live and work in Cumbria. They prioritise those on the lowest incomes and we focus on civil, social welfare law in Housing, Debt, Employment and Welfare Benefit matters.

Disability assistance

The Allerdale Disability Association can provide help and advice to those with a disability.

Financial assistance

If you are struggling to meet your bills then there are some assistance schemes which we can provide including Discretionary Housing Payments and Council Tax Reduction Scheme. Anyone facing financial hardship should come to speak to us before getting behind on your council tax.

To reduce credit payments, a credit union may be able to help.

Grants and community support

The Cumbria Community Foundation helps groups and individuals to help them with an initiative.
