Our role in an emergency
We're known as a 'category one responder'. This means we have key responsibilities; including providing advice and assistance to the public and sharing information with other partners. This includes:
- risk assessments
- business continuity management
- emergency planning
- maintaining public awareness and arrangements to warn, inform and advise the public
- provision of advice and assistance to the commercial sector and voluntary organisations
- co-operation and information sharing
