Find a household waste recycling centre

There are a number of household waste recycling centres (HWRCs) across Cumbria. They take a range of items for recycling, household waste and some hazardous waste.

How to find a household waste recycling centre

Find all the HWRC's in Cumbria, where they are and what you can take there.

You can search for a HWRC by using the:

  • search box; search by address, place name or postcode
  • map; look for a blue pin on the map, click on it for a link to information about that HWRC
  • specialist recycling items tick box; click on the tick boxes to find sites that will take these items

You'll see the HWRC sites found for your search as pins on the map and in a list underneath the map.

Other HWRCs across Cumbria

Whether you live Cumberland or Westmorland and Furness you can use any of the 14 Household Waste Recycling Centres.

If you are applying for a waste permit to do this, you will need to apply through your own council, for example - if you are a resident of Keswick (Cumberland Council area) and want to use Flusco HWRC (Westmorland and Furness Council area) you would need to apply for a waste permit through Cumberland Council.
