What can people expect

  • For people struggling with mobility, there are limited spaces that can be made available right outside the centre.
  • These car parking spaces these need to be pre booked by contacting the manager, Mrs Debbie Hields.
  • Hot drinks will be available throughout the session, along with a bowl of soup and a roll at lunch time.
  • We are planning to provide a Warm Hub to the people of Carlisle who need to use it in these challenging times.
  • Free wi-fi; Charging facilities for phones etc; TV; Magazines/newspapers; Books borrowing/swapping; Disabled toilets; Informal activities (eg board games); Free and/or low cost meals; Play equipment;
  • We have a conservatory which is attached to our day centre on Shady Grove Road, this is used for meetings and often by the clients who live in the sheltered housing units but usually on a night time, so the space is available and heated through the day.
  • Those wishing to use our hub would receive a warm and friendly welcome, they would have access to comfy seating to watch the television, and we also offer a book swap service, films, jigsaws, board games.
  • Free Wi Fi and charging for mobile phones and laptops.
  • We are also planning to invite people from local businesses and groups to give talks and demonstrations, we have already secured several slots and are waiting to hear back from others when they confirm the dates they have available
