Works update: Road improvements on A5086 Cleator Main Street

Cumberland Council is providing an update to residents and businesses on the progress of road improvement works on the A5086 Cleator Main Street.

Due to recent adverse weather conditions, the footway reconstruction works have experienced slight delays. Works will be ongoing until Friday 20 December 2024.

To minimise disruption to the public, the ongoing footway works will continue to be carried out using temporary traffic lights and a stop-and-go system, ensuring a safer and more efficient flow of traffic.

Cumberland Council recognises that these essential works may cause inconvenience to road users, particularly as the A5086 is a major route. The council is actively collaborating with local stakeholders, including Parish Councils and local representatives, to reduce disruption wherever possible.

For more information, please contact Cumberland Council’s Highways Hotline on 0300 373 3736 or visit the Cumberland Council website.

Cumberland Council apologises for any inconvenience caused and appreciates the continued support of local residents and businesses.
