You asked, we listened: Adjusted schedule for A7 Kingstown Road resurfacing.

Cumberland Council is excited to announce that essential resurfacing works on the A7 Kingstown Road in Carlisle, between Moorville Drive and Lowry Hill Road, will start on Monday 18 November—with a new schedule shaped by resident feedback!

Initially scheduled from 8.00am to 5.00pm, Monday to Friday, the council will adjust the work hours in response to residents' concerns about school pick-up times. Now, the works will take place from 9.00am to 3.00pm each day for five days, allowing traffic to flow freely for school pick-up hours.

To complete this resurfacing, temporary two-way traffic lights will be installed on Kingstown Road, along with a road closure on Lowry Hill Road. Please note that access in the area may be disrupted between 9.00am and 3.00pm, and some delays are expected. However, to minimise disruption, all traffic management will be removed outside of these hours.

While vehicle access for residents and businesses will be maintained whenever possible, the council ask that the public discuss specific access needs with on-site staff. Access for emergency service vehicles, pedestrians, and dismounted cyclists will be fully maintained.

Recycling and waste collections will not be disrupted, and information about bus stop relocations will be posted at current bus stop locations. For any queries regarding bus routes, passengers are encouraged to contact Stagecoach directly.

Cumberland Council reminds the public that businesses remain open as usual throughout this essential work and encourage the community to continue supporting local businesses.

The council thanks the public for their patience and cooperation during this important project and apologises for any inconvenience caused.
