A programme of events is planned in the Cumberland area over May Bank Holiday weekend and during Spring.

Cumberland Council is pleased to announce its support in ‘The Big Switch Off’ event on Tuesday 23 April, in Keswick.

Food and drink fans are in for a treat this weekend as Taste Cumbria returns to Wigton for the first festival of the year. This Saturday (20 April) Water Street car park will be packed with a Producers’ Market, live music stage, hot food stands and a quirky cocktail bar. In the Market Hall there will be a Youth Market, while outside will be loads of family activities like magic shows, circus skills workshops, street art sessions and fairground rides.

Community events extended across Cumberland this summer

Cumberland Council is set to host a free Spring fete at the Distington Walled Garden on Saturday 13 April. Following the success of previous events, the council is eager to continue showcasing the talents of local artisans and vendors. They have organised another Artisan Fete which will be held between 10am and 4pm.
