Highways Asset Management strategy 2023 to 2025

The Highway Asset Management Strategy is aligned to support the aspirations of the Council Plan and clearly set out our standards and levels of service for the highways infrastructure assets. The previous strategy was approved by Cumbria County Council, which set out both the Council’s Policy position and strategy for Highway Asset Management.

Cumberland electric vehicle strategy 2024 to 2026

Our strategy for Electric Vehicles (EV) involves infrastructure development, incentive programs, public awareness campaigns, fleet electrification, collaboration with businesses, policy support, research and development, and integration with renewable energy.

Winter Service Policy September 2023 to April 2028

We manage over 3,600 km of highways, connecting communities and supporting residents' access to work, education, and business. The updated Winter Service Policy outlines how the council will maintain safe and reliable travel during winter, ensuring roads remain accessible in icy and snowy conditions.
