Cumberland Local Plan
The Cumberland Local Plan will provide the long-term strategy for sustainable growth across the district and replace the existing suite of adopted development plans.
Cumberland Council is progressing with a new Cumberland Local Plan. We aim to replace the former District Council Local Plans and the former County Council Minerals and Waste Plan with a single new plan.
You can view the current Local Plan documents for the former county and district councils on the Local Plan page. These will remain part of the Development Plan until they are replaced by the Cumberland Local Plan.
The Local Development Scheme (LDS) sets out the broad timetable for the preparation of Development Plan Documents and associated documents.
Statement of Community Involvement (SCI)
The Statement of Community Involvement sets out the council’s policy for engaging the community and stakeholders in the planning process. A draft SCI has been prepared for public consultation.
