Appeal a decision made about school transport

When you can appeal a decision, how to appeal and the process that follows.

When you can appeal

You can make an appeal on the following grounds:

  • the transport arrangements offered
  • your child or children's eligibility for the transport
  • the distance measurement in relation to statutory walking distances
  • the safety of the route

All other concerns or complaints should be registered through our internal reviews and complaints procedure

The appeal process

The appeal process consists of two stages.

Stage 1

Your appeal is reviewed by a Senior Manager.

Submit an appeal to a Senior Manager

Stage 2

If you are not satisfied with the decision from the Senior Manager, you can escalate your appeal to Stage 2. Your appeal will then be reviewed by an Independent Appeal Panel.
