Community governance reviews provide the opportunity to review and make changes to governance within a specified area.
Town and parish councils and residents of the community (via petition) can request a review.
Reviews could look at the boundaries, the number of councillors, the creation of a parish council and whether one council should merge with another.
They are usually carried out by a working group of councillors for the relevant area. The group makes a recommendation which is voted on. The final decision is made by Cumberland Council.
