Voters are being reminded of changes to the way that postal votes are handled. 

Cumberland Council are encouraging parents and carers of children starting primary or secondary school in September 2024, to apply online for home to school transport before the deadline on Friday 31 May.

Children, parents and carers have been informed of their primary school offer today with over 97.3% offered their first preference in the Cumberland Council area.

This Saturday (20 April) Water Street car park will be packed with a Producers’ Market, live music stage, hot food stands and a quirky cocktail bar. In the Market Hall there will be a Youth Market, while outside will be loads of family activities like magic shows, circus skills workshops, street art sessions and fairground rides.

A successful Teenage Market is set to return to Carlisle later this month.
After a highly successful launch in April 2023 Carlisle’s Teenage Market soon became a must attend event for Cumberland’s young entrepreneurs and performers.
