A project to improve Maryport’s public realm has been completed, with some artistic new signage bringing a splash of colour to the town.

Cumberland Council are proud to announce the launch of the Healthy Happy Foundations Pledge for Early Years Providers. Settings and schools who join the scheme commit to going above and beyond to support young children to build strong foundations and it also acts as a quality marker to help parents and carers when choosing childcare.

A Christmas market made up of young traders will be held in Carlisle on Saturday 23 November. Carlisle’s Teenage Market is continuing to capture the imagination of the area’s young entrepreneurs with all stalls at the November market being booked with 24 hours of the event being advertised. 

Cumberland Council is set to begin essential carriageway improvement works between Westnewton and Allonby, starting Monday 18 November, for a duration of two weeks. This project aims to create smoother, safer journeys for all road users.

As the festive season approaches, Cumberland Council is pleased to announce the launch of the Holiday Activity and Food (HAF) programme, aimed at providing fun, engaging activities and nutritious meals for children and young people during the Christmas holiday period.
