Flimby Primary School  is looking to appoint an enthusiastic, conscientious and self-motivated Apprentice Learning Support Assistant to join the team. This is a key role in providing a welcoming and safe environment for staff, students and visitors.

We are looking for a well-organised, self-motivated individual with excellent communication skills. You will work to promote effective participation, enhance learning, and raise aspirations to help all children achieve their full potential. You will also play a key role in supporting teaching colleagues.

The successful candidate will:
•    Study towards the CACHE Level 2 or 3 Support Teaching and Learning in school
•    Provide support and guidance to children, young people and those engaged with them
•    Appropriate Level 2 in both English and Maths at a grade C or above.
•    Up to date knowledge and understanding of the practices and procedures within education relating to the welfare, safety and education of pupils.
•    An understanding of principles of child development and learning processes.

About this opportunity

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the School Organisation Team. We are looking for an ambitious and motivated individual to play a key role in the delivery of our statutory duties in relation to:

  • School organisation and pupil place planning
  • Sufficiency of specialist places for children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities

 

You will take a leading role in assessing, reviewing, and implementing changes to ensure the sufficiency of mainstream and specialist places across Cumberland.  The successful candidate must be a skilled communicator and able to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders including schools, early education and childcare providers, as well as liaising with other relevant Council services and the Department for Education as required.

    About this opportunity

    This is an exciting opportunity to join the Advanced Practice Lead team in Cumberland Council. We are looking for experienced practitioners with the knowledge and skills to ensure that the highest standards of practice are embedded in the organisation.

    Successful applicants will have a key role in embedding transformation work with the operational teams and we strive for continuous improvement to ensure the best outcomes for the people of Cumberland.

    We are particularly keen to encourage applicants with Occupational Therapy experience to apply for the position due to current staffing changes but this is open to those with Social Work qualifications aswell. A multidisciplinary approach helps us model operational working practices and bring each professions unique skills to the team.

    Our team

    Our team work under the direction of the Principal Social Worker and Principal Occupational Therapist to develop and maintain the highest standards of social care practice across all Adult Social Care operational teams in Cumberland. We have a central role in ensuring Adult Social Care is prepared for CQC inspection.

    The role

    You will work closely with members of operational Adult Social Care teams at all levels. Work will be both on an individual and group basis to support the development of practice.  You will also work collaboratively on the development of research informed, strengths-based policy and practice guidance.

    About the role:

    We are seeking to recruit Casual Homeless Accommodation Officers, to work as and when required to cover planned / unplanned absences and periods of increased need. This includes providing cover within a 24-hour service on a fixed rota including working evenings, weekends, and sleep overs (on site).

    The Homeless Accommodation Service directly manages and provides housing related support to single people and families experiencing homelessness / rough sleeping, across 50 units of emergency accommodation in Carlisle, some of which is staffed 24 hours a day on fixed rotas (this post is one of those roles).This is a statutory service in fulfilment of the Councils statutory duties under the Housing Act 1996, Homeless Reduction Act 2017 and Domestic Abuse Act 2021.The post holder will assist in the delivery of 24-hour direct access emergency accommodation services and providing personalised immediate support to people experiencing homelessness in the fulfilment of Cumberland Councils statutory responsibilities.Note this post provides cover within a 24-hour service, including working evenings, weekends, and sleep overs (on site) based within in a residential men’s scheme and a women and families scheme.Experience of working with vulnerable people is preferred but not essential as full training will be given to the right candidate.For an informal discussion please contact Peter Rhodes on 01228 817386.
