To work under the guidance of teaching/senior staff and within an agreed system of supervision, to implement agreed work programmes with individuals/groups, in or out of the classroom. This could include those requiring detailed and specialist knowledge in particular areas and will involve assisting the teacher in the whole planning cycle and the management/preparation of resources.  

Can deliver up to five timetabled lessons as required by the department's needs and lead whole classes during the short-term absence of teachers.

Teaching Assistant

We are seeking an excellent teaching assistant, preferably with experience in an Early Years, KS1 or KS2 setting, and experience of supporting children with SEN. • Experience of systematic synthetic phonics or Read Write Inc. training 


To be successful you must:
- have previous experience of working as a teaching assistant in a similar environment
- have previous experience of working with a primary school to support progress in learning 
- have sound numeracy and literacy skills
- have a good knowledge of SEND
- be resourceful and proactive in initiating learning, tasks and classroom management
- be keen, dynamic, patient and confident in your approach
- have a passion to work with young people and be committed to safeguarding children.
- be able to use your own initiative and work as part of a team.
- be willing to commit to further SEND training to meet the needs of the children within the school

Desirable: Have experience of or willing to train in the following functions:
- Working with children with hearing impairment / physical and medical needs / children with autism

Kitchen Assistant
